Want to try iOS 27 before the official September release? Here is exactly how to install the public beta on your iPhone today — no developer account needed.
Before You Start — Important Warnings
- Beta software can have bugs and crashes
- Always back up your iPhone to iCloud or your computer first
- Do not install on your primary device if you rely on it for work
Step 1: Back Up Your iPhone
Go to Settings → Your Name → iCloud → iCloud Backup → Back Up Now. Wait for the backup to complete before proceeding.
Step 2: Enroll in the Apple Beta Program
- Open Safari on your iPhone (not a computer).
- Go to beta.apple.com.
- Sign in with your Apple ID.
- Tap "Enroll Your Device."
- Follow the prompts to download the beta profile.
Step 3: Install the Beta Profile
- After downloading, go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management.
- Tap the iOS 27 beta profile.
- Tap Install and enter your passcode.
- Restart your iPhone when prompted.
Step 4: Download iOS 27 Beta
- Go to Settings → General → Software Update.
- You will see iOS 27 Beta available.
- Tap Download and Install.
- Wait for the download and installation to complete (15–30 minutes).
How to Remove the Beta and Go Back to iOS 26
If you want to remove the beta, go to Settings → General → VPN & Device Management, tap the beta profile, and tap Remove. Note: you may need to restore your device to fully go back to the stable version.
